Auteur Theory

In 1954, François Truffaut wrote an essay entitled A Certain Tendency in French Cinema. In this work he claimed that film is a great medium for expressing the personal ideas of the director. He suggested that this meant that the director should therefore be regarded as an auteur. In fact, Truffaut once provocatively said that: "There are no good and bad movies, only good and bad directors"

This ties in with my work as i am going to write a magazine article about how rock bands are represented within the media today. This will also tie in with my work as i will be reaserching other articles from magazines such as kerrang, NME and metal hammer.

This will need more detailed thought. Research the rock music magazine market for starters. Analyse either the generic conventions or representation of a specific element/ artists. You will have to produce significantly more for your A2 production than a magazine article. If you are going to doa print production, you'll need to consider carefully what its U.S.P (unique selling point) is- a carbon copy of Q magazine is not going to get great marks.

    Cheers
